My Resume
I started acting in Junior High School back in Stoughton, Massachusetts. I had a great speech teacher who had us do fun things like create commercials for crazy products, and we'd perform one-act plays for anyone who'd come to watch us perform (our parents, I guess). In high school I began acting in full-length plays and musicals, and started writing my own skits and plays. As a freshman I remember reading a book of Neil Simon plays while home sick with the flu, and fell in love with stage comedies. I broadened my horizons reading anthologies of Tennessee Williams and William Inge, and I knew theater was in my future.
I had the good fortune to study at Carnegie Mellon University, where I studied acting and playwriting. While home from college I was hit by a car on a sidewalk while visiting my parents, an accident from which it took almost ten years to recover well enough to get back onstage. Several surgeries and years of physical therapy later, I have an acting career I can be proud of. I've lost count of the number of plays I've been in, and the number of films keeps growing. Though my ambition to be a full-time actor was hampered at age 21, the passion for acting and storytelling never left me.
